Johnny Weldon

Funeral services for Mr. Johnny S. Weldon, age 81, of Big Sandy, are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel, Dr. Keith Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Upshur County, with Copper Hall, Sammy Boykin, Troy Clowers, J.R. Pierce, Clay Warner, Eddie Warner, Michael Shane Bell, and Robert Field serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Johnny was born on Saturday, May 8, 1937 in Gilmer, to the late Guy Howell Weldon and Gunnie Waleska Cannon Weldon. He passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 in Tyler. He was a retired Conductor working for Union Pacific for 37 years. He was a member of the Bethesda Masonic Lodge #142 A.F.+A.M. in Gilmer.

Johnny is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Weldon of Big Sandy; daughters, Joan V. Rogers of Big Sandy, Jana Rushing and husband Jim of Big Sandy, Jacqueline E. Howell and husband Mark of Hallsville; four grandchildren, Brandy Tipton and husband Dell, Jordan Howell and wife Ashleigh, Jenna Harrison and husband Hunter, Meaghan Raugust and husband Ryan; six great-grandchildren, Kaleb Tipton, Kinsleigh Howell, Harper Raugust, Jackson William Scott Howell, Rhett Harrison, and Hudson Raugust.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
