Joy Dale Pritchett McKnight

Services for Joy Dale Pritchett McKnight, 82, of Gladewater will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 30, 2017, at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. Interment will follow services at Barber Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home.

August 19, 1935 to September 26, 2017. After many health issues our loving wife and mother went to be with the Lord. Married for 62 years to the love of her life Darrell McKnight, together
they raised 3 children, Terry, Teresa and Tracy. She enjoyed keeping house, cooking and shopping with her sister Judy See and sister-in-law Ikey Haire, who was more like a sister to her. Joy was an excellent cook who enjoyed sharing recipes. Joy enjoyed laughing and sharing family stories. Next to serving the Lord family was always first to Joy. Her beloved dog Sophie was always by her side. She loved taking family trips to Hot Springs, Arkansas and Branson, Missouri. She had a green thumb and loved growing plants and flowers. She attended the First Methodist Church of Gladewater. God was always in her thoughts.

Those preceding her in death include her parents Jamie and Susan Byers-Pritchett, brothers Jamie and Bobby Pritchett and sister Judy Pritchett-See and brother and sister in-law Cody and Helen Houston.

She is survived by her husband Darrell McKnight of Gladewater, sons and daughters in-law Terry and Melanie McKnight of Longview and their son Daniel. Tracy and Melinda McKnight of Gladewater and their children Joshua, Patrick and his friend Amanda, Ashley and Lindsey Garcia. A daughter Teresa and husband Steve Ludovice of Houston and their children Kristin and her husband Will Knox of Houston, Kyle Ludovice and his friend Candice and Kelly Ludovice, as well six great grand children; Landon, Logan and Lily McKnight Sidnie and Aubrie Garcia, and Owen Knox. Other relatives include sister, Alice Moore of Houston, brothers Jerry, Donald “Butch” and Lonnie Pritchett, Ikey Haire as well as several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Christus Good Shepherd of Longview. The doctors and staff worked so
hard for Joy in her time of need.

She was a wonderful wife and mother.
