Julian Loyd Pool

Services for Mr. Julian Pool, 79, of Mineola, will be held 2:00 P.M, Saturday, April 24, 2010, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Jim Nahias and Jimmy Deans officiating and interment to follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Upshur County. Mr. Pool passed away on Wednesday April 21, 2010 in Tyler. He was born May 15, 1930, in Rosewood Community in Upshur County, Texas to William Nelson and Golda Gipson Pool. Mr. Pool served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of the Jehova"s Witnesses. He started delivering telegrams on bicycle and worked his way up thru the launching of the first communication satellites. Mr. Pool was a telecommunication technician for 39 years for Western Union before his retirement and a member of Keep in Touch Club of Western Union Retirees. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Pool of Mineola; sons, Michael Pool of McMinnville, TN, Ben Pool of Farmersville, TX; sister, Dee Bratton of Box Elder, TX; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 P.M until service time at the funeral home.
