L V McCary Sr

Graveside services for Mr. L. V. McCary, Sr., 86, of Ore City will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, January 25, 2014 at New Hope Cemetery in Mineola, Texas with Patrick McCary officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. McCary passed away in Longview on Wednesday, January 22, 2014. He was born on January 22, 1928, in Mineola to Virgil Grady and Lois Eula Palmer McCary. Mr. McCary lived in Ore City since 1959, was a member of The Church of Christ and worked at Lone Star Steel for 22 years before his retirement. He is survived by his sons, L. V. McCary, Jr and wife Jane of Kingsbury, Kenny McCary and wife Pamela of Gilmer; daughters, Wanna McCary of Sabine, Wanda Guinn and husband, Andrew of Sabine, Myrna Blackmon and husband Jimmie of Diana; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Mr. McCary was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 64 years, Mina McCary on December 18, 2013.
