LaWauna Ernestine Hill

Funeral services for LaWauna Ernestine Hill, 90, of Gladewater will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014, at St. Theresa"s Catholic Church in Union Grove with Father Mark Dunne officiating. Interment will be in the West Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Mrs. Hill passed Thursday, October 9, 2014 in a Tyler hospital. Mrs. Hill was born November 22, 1923, in Big Sandy, TX to Ernest and Viola Inez Dunagan Perdue. She was a homemaker, had lived in Gladewater most of her life and was a member of St. Theresa"s Catholic Church. She met her husband, William Hill when he was stationed at Camp Fannin during World War II. They married June 22, 1946 and were married 61 years at the time of his death in September 8, 2007. Mrs. Hill is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Wade Hopson, of Rockwall; grandsons, Drew Hopson and Matt Hopson; sister, June Justice of Big Sandy. She is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Dorothy Galbraith. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 11, 2014 at St. Theresa"s Catholic Church in Union Grove.
