Lewis "Brooksie" Wilson Brooks III

Graveside services for Lewis "Brooksie" Brooks, 64, of Gladewater, Texas will be held 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at West Mountain Cemetery in Upshur County with Reverend Roger Gage officiating. Interment will follow the West Mountain Cemetery. Mr. Brooks passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014, in a Longview hospital. Mr. Brooks was born on June 22, 1949, in Graham, TX to Lewis Wilson and Maxine Phillips Brooks, Jr. He was a route salesman for Frito Lay Company and a member of the Baptist faith. He is survived by his wife, Betty Brooks of Gladewater; stepmother, Faye Brooks; son and daughter-in-law, Bubba and Omega Brooks of Gladewater; stepsons and spouses, Monty and Carolyn Gage of Ft. Worth and Malcolm and Lois Gage of Dickson, TX; brother and sister-in-law, Danny Ross and Monte of Brooks of Longview; stepbrothers and spouse, Ronnie Fowler of Midland and Eddie and Nita Fowler of Midland; four grandchildren, Morgan Brooks, Logan Brooks, Savannah Gage, and Malorie Roland; one great-grandchild, Chandler Roland. Mr. Brooks is preceded in death by his father, Lewis Brooks, Jr.; mother, Maxine Wilkerson; grandchild, Mason Ryan Gage. Pallbearers are Danny Brooks, Kody Johnston, Eric Heath, Nick Foster, Clifford Bible, Jobbie Ainsworth.
