Linda Joy Merchen Gladewater -- Private memorial services for Linda Joy Merchen, 64, of Big Sandy, will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Born on July 11, 1947, in Sioux City, Iowa, she died on Monday, December 5, 2011. She graduated from Tarleton State with a Bachelor of Science degree. She was a nursing home administrator for many years and a member of Mobberly Baptist Church in Longview. She is survived by 2 sons and daughter-in-law, David and Charissa Merchen of Arizona and Donald Merchen of Brownwood; daughter, Michelle Koester of Big Sandy; 14 grandchildren; and sister, Ronda Lavaux of McKinney. No visitation is scheduled.
