Funeral service for Lynda Clare Crump, 72, of Longview will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at Little Mound Baptist Church in Upshur County with Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Little Mound Cemetery in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Crump went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday, February 21, 2015 in Kilgore. Lynda was the second daughter of H.O. and Clara Wedeking. She was born August 9, 1942 in Waco. She married Bro. Jim Crump on November 5, 1960 and together they were blest with four children. Lynda was a homemaker, farmer/rancher and together she and Bro. Crump pastured churches in the East Texas Area and she was a member of the Little Mound Baptist Church. She could very well be described as a Proverbs 31, woman she inspired many young women by her example and teaching of God"s Word. Lynda will be greatly missed by her family and anyone who knew her but she now rests in the arms of Jesus. She is survived by her husband, Bro. James Crump of Longview; son, Jim Crump, Jr. and wife, Carol of Knoxville, Arkansas; daughters, Joni Crump of Miami, Florida, Christine Royce and husband, Michael of Liberty City and Deanna Maloney and husband, Shane of McKinney; brothers, Ben Wedeking of Emory, Daniel Wedeking of Little Rock, Arkansas, John Wedeking of Huffman, Texas and Paul Wedeking of San Antonio, Florida; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Rose Marie Dunn. Pallbearers will be Travis Shipp, Clayton Heyse, Jerry Long, Tom Knapp, Charles Garbs and James Dunn. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, Texas. The family wishes to express thanks to the staff of the Willows Nursing Home in Kilgore as well as Heart to Heart Hospice for their great care and concern. The family request memorials to be made in her memory to the local Alzheimer"s Association.
