Lynn E. Davis

Lynn E. Davis, 56, of Gilmer, Texas, went home peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, to be with his Lord in Houston, Texas.
Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021, at First United Methodist Church in Gilmer, with Reverend Matthew Smith officiating.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM prior to the service at the church.
Lynn was born on October 8, 1965, in Pittsburg, Texas, to Perry and Francis Pullen Davis. He attended and graduated from Gilmer High School’s class of 1984, of which he was a proud member. He went to East Texas State University and graduated in 1989, with a double major in Economics and Agriculture.
He worked for Hixon Lumber in Gilmer and enjoyed team-roping, horses, and being around rodeos. He like to travel and vacation with family. Lynn was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church in Gilmer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Perry and Francis Davis.
He is survived by his brother, Leland Davis; sister, Leandra Davis-Taylor; niece, Jessica Taylor and fiancé, Peter Melendez; nephews, Justin Taylor and wife, Shelby Taylor, Jordan Taylor; and great nephew James Henry Taylor.
Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Taylor, Jordan Taylor, Lonnie Tarrant, Marc De Louw, and the Gilmer High School class of 1984.
