Graveside services for Marvel Vivian Hair, 100, of Gilmer will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at Gilmer City Cemetery with Larry W. Osborne officiating. Interment will be in Gilmer City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Marvel Hair passed away in her sleep on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at the Gilmer Care Center on day after celebrating her 100th birthday with family and friends. Marvel Irene Stolle was born in Gilmer, Texas on June 25, 1910, the third child of seven children born to Frederick Richard Stolle and Roberta Gurney Stolle. Marvel worked in her father"s caf", The White Swan, and later worked with her husband, Chub, in the chicken and egg business. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church of Gilmer and lived her entire life in Gilmer except for a brief period during World War II when she joined her husband, Chub, who was serving in the Army Air Corps near Corpus Christi, Texas. Marvel was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, B.B. (Chub) Vivian, her husband of 27 years, Roy Hair, her parents and five of her siblings. Survivors include her sister, Hetty Mazzola of Gilmer, nieces and nephews, Bill Callaway of Wills Point, Richard Stolle of Gilmer, Larry Mosely of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Prevatt of Sherman, James Washburn of Ft. Worth, Ann Vivian Morris of Gilmer and numerous great nieces and nephews.
