Marvin Eugene (Gene) White

Memorial visitation for Mr. Marvin Eugene (Gene) White, 79, of Gilmer, TX will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 12 noon Saturday, March 30, 2019, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. White passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019 in Longview.

Gene was born on September 5, 1939, in Bonham, TX to the late Floyd and Ruby (Williams) White. He married Betty Elaine Askew and worked as a Texas Highway Patrol. Mr. White was a previous Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 314 in Gilmer and a member of New Beginnings in Gilmer.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. White is survived by his wife, Betty Elaine White; his two sons, Bill White and his wife, Shelly, and Jon White all of Gilmer; grandchildren, Meagan Carnes and husband, Joshua of Spring Hill Zachary Cullen White of Austin, Bailey White of Gilmer; great grandchildren, Ellison Ray Carnes and Bennett Allen Carnes; as well as numerous cousins.
