Gilmer- Mary Ann Brooks was born in Josephine, Texas on October 4, 1931, to Mandon Day Brooks and Jimmie Lee Brooks. She went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 17, 2021.

Services for Mary Ann will be held Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at 2:00 PM at First Assembly of God Church in Gilmer with Brother Bruce Wike and Brother Matt Pool officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at First Assembly of God Church.

Mary Ann was a born again Christian, baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Gilmer, Texas. She was a Sunday school teacher in Midland, Texas in her earlier years as well as a Vacation Bible School teacher. Mary Ann was an organizer for church services at “The Big Springs State Hospital” for the Midland church. She was a volunteer for church rummage sales and many other church functions. She also worked in many nursing homes as an aide and medication aide. She was the meat cook at Gilmer Elementary for several years. Her most favorite job was being a homemaker for her family. She enjoyed having the table spread with a wide variety of choices on holidays. She was a “giver” in all aspects of her life.

Mary Ann is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Roy Willis Evers, siblings; James Mandon Brooks, Jesse Lee Brooks, and Linda Kay Brooks.

She is survived by her children; Roy Lynn Evers and wife, Gail, Sandria Gail Woodruff and husband Kenneth, Michael Ray Evers and wife Linda, grandchildren; Carol Jean Malarski and husband Gordon, Russell Lynn Evers, Donnie Wade Melton and wife Chanel, Michael Ray Evers, and Mark Wayne Evers, great-grandchildren; Autumn Malarski, Austin Malarski, Madyson Melton and Mason Melton, siblings; Kenneth Ray Brooks, Jimmie Carolyn Generelli, Roy Wayne Brooks and Brenda Sue Hassell.
