Mary Beth (Brown) Wheat, 93, of Garland, Texas, died January 17, 2022, after a short illness.

She was born in Baird, Texas, May 6, 1928 to parents Prudence and Clifton Brown. “Maisie” graduated from high school in Marble Falls, Texas. She was married to Sam J. Wheat for 46 years.

Maisie was a long time resident of the Dallas area. She lived in McKinney, Plano, Sachse, and most recently Garland, Texas. She enjoyed many years as a member of the Sachse Senior Center where she made many friends. She was loving and kind to everyone and loved to hug people. She enjoyed writing stories and poetry. She also loved ballet. She danced and taught ballet briefly in her early adult years.

Maisie loved to travel and had the opportunity to visit many places including France, Germany, Israel, Thailand, Fiji, Alaska and Hawaii.

Another interest for her was reading about and talking about homeopathic remedies and organic eating. She loved sharing her knowledge with her children and grandchildren.

Maisie was a strong woman of faith and a longtime member of the Worldwide Church of God, where she served many years as a deaconess.

Maisie was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Loraine Sipe and Kitty Briscoe, her husband Sam Wheat, and daughter Tamara Moore.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Wheat and wife Carolyn; daughter, Tara Caudle; 8 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 1 o’clock in the afternoon at Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater, Texas under the direction of Croley Funeral Home.
