Molly Marie Wilson

Funeral services for Molly Marie Wilson, 65, of Gladewater, will be 2:00 PM Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the East Mountain Baptist Church in East Mountain. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Gladewater. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home. Molly passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer at her home surrounded by family.

Molly was born February 8, 1954 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina to James Thompson and Phyllis Mallory Thompson. She graduated from Haltom High School in 1972. Molly completed her education at the University of Texas at Tyler in 1994 graduating Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She spent her professional career dedicated to teaching kindergarten, first grade and reading recovery at Union Grove I.S.D. where she worked from 1995 until her retirement in 2014. In 1999 she was selected the Union Grove Elementary School’s Globe Teacher of the year. As an educator, Molly believed that learning was a lifelong journey.

After retirement Molly spent time traveling with her husband David. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. When she wasn’t traveling, Molly loved relaxing at home, watching birds and planting flowers. Molly was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by all.

Molly is survived by her husband David L. Wilson; children Jenny Lothrop and husband Clayton, James Wilson, Julie Brunson and husband Jeffry, Jennifer McClanahan and husband Reuben, Janna Graham and husband Jared, Katie Rios and husband Derrick and June Davenport and husband Eddie; eleven grandchildren; sister Sandra Elaine Woitaszewski; sister-in-law Letty Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents James T. Thompson and Phyllis Mallory Thompson and older brother Gerald L. Thompson.
