Graveside services for Monroe William Rogers, 75, of Pittsburg will be held 12 P.M. on Friday, January 31, 2014,at Perryville Cemetery in Wood County with Bro. James McKee officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Rogers passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in Tyler. He was born on August 31, 1938, in Dallas, Texas to John and Alice Winkles Rogers. Mr. Rogers married Shirley Mae Lang on April 11, 1954. He was a maintenance worker for Winnsboro ISD and a member of the Pentecostal church. Monroe loved hunting, fishing and dirt car racing. Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Rogers of Pittsburg; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald Rogers of Dallas, James and Kathy Rogers of Pittsburg, Larry and Bobbie Rogers of Pittsburg; daughters and sons-in-law, Daisey and Joel Riddlespurger of Amarillo, Regina Rogers of Winnsboro, Rebecca and Corey Hallmark of Grand Prairie; brother: Robert Rogers; 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. Pallbearers for the service will be Daniel Roberts, Kevin Rogers, J. J. Rogers, Jeffery Ruyle, Donald Rogers, Jr. and Phillip Burkhalter. The family will receive friends on January 30, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
