Services for Olan "Fat Boy" McKnight, 82, of Pritchett will be held 10:00 A. M. Wednesday July 9, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend Mark Dunne officiating. Burial will follow at Morris Cemetery in Upshur County, Texas. Mr. McKnight passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in Gilmer. He was born January 25, 1932, in Gilmer, Texas to Claude and Elma Marie Venn McKnight. Mr. McKnight was an oilfield tool pusher. He is survived by his wife, Librada McKnight of Pritchett; son, Tim McKnight and wife, Lois of Odessa,TX; daughter, Allison McKnight Travis and husband, Kenneth of Pritchett; four grandsons, Johnathan and James McKnight, Preston and Garrett Travis. Mr. McKnight was preceded in death by his parents, son, Larry McKnight, sister, Betty Truitt and brother, Jerry McKnight. Pallbearers will be Mike McKnight, Noel Venn, Ray Mack Gilbert, Scott Hewitt, Rick Jones and Mike Koble. Honorary pallbearers are his grandsons. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
