Graveside services for Opal Cross Barnes, 54, of Gilmer will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, February 23, 2013, at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Reverend J. P. Story officiating under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Barnes passed away on Monday, February 18, 2013 in Dallas. She was born on February 21, 1958, in Orange, Texas, to R. D. "Buck " Cross and Flossie Cox Helpenstill. Opal was a beautician and a Pentecostal by faith. She is survived by her husband, Ronnie Barnes of Gilmer; parents, R. D. "Buck" and Elloween Cross, Flossie and Ray Helpenstill all of Gilmer; son, Bo Lee of Gilmer and Logan Barnes of Arkansas; daughters, Wendy Boggs of Gilmer, Stormy Jonsef and husband, Robert of Gilmer, Tracy Schamber of California and Lisa Epkins of California; Sister, Susan Story and husband, Reverend Jeff of McLeod, Texas; grandchildren, Perrin, Melody, Autumn, Ray, Jaycee, Breanne, Samantha, Megan, Kayla, JR, Kacie, Kyree, Jordan and Leilella; two great grandchildren, Joseph and Phelanee and her favorite dog, Barney. Opal was preceded in death by her brother, William "Tater" Cross. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 23, 2013, from noon to 2:30 at the funeral home.
