Graveside services for Paul Edward King, 89, of Gladewater, will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Gladewater Memorial Park in Gladewater with Bro. Bailey Harris officiating. Mr. King passed away on Friday, May 17, 2019, in Gladewater.

Paul was born May 5, 1930 in Barling, Arkansas to the late Dr. E.W. King and Frankie Matlock King. Mr. King was retired from the Gladewater I.S.D. after 35 years of service as a teacher, counselor and coach. Paul loved the Lord and his family. He was a devoted member of FBC Gladewater and had served as a Deacon for 30 years. Paul enjoyed playing golf, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He especially adored his grandchildren and cherished all the time he had with them. Paul will forever be remembered for his dedication to the numerous students he influenced. Mr. King was a kind, gentle and pure hearted man that led by example always striving to bring out the best in everyone he met. His friends and family will not soon forget his great sense of humor and witty comments.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years Sharon King; two sons Mike King and wife Sandi and Dennis King and wife Nelly; brother-in-law Mark Taylor; two grandsons Brett King and wife Amanda and Chaz King as well as many other loving family and friends.
