Rachel Hays

GILMER – Graveside services for Rachel Z. Hays, 85, of Gilmer will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Southland Memorial Park in Grand Prairie, TX with Reverend Jesse Hernandez officiating. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Hays passed away Saturday, December 30, 2017 in a Gilmer nursing home.

Mrs. Hays was born July 23, 1932 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Willie S. and Lissie L. Cantrell. She was retired from Spring Factory and was a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Hays is survived by her son, Douglas Bailey; brothers, Bobby Cantrell and Willie Lowell Cantrell; sisters, JoAnn Harris, Delores Rodriguez and Helen Inez Trujillo; five grandchildren, Cristina Bailey, Diana Young Wolfe, Allen Hankins, Chad Hankins and Kathy Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Hays; daughter, Rose Ann Conrad; parents; brothers, Eric Cantrell, Harold Cantrell, Kenneth Cantrell and Roger Dale Cantrell.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
