Ralph Edward Russell

Funeral services for Ralph Edward Russell, age 84, of Gilmer will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 16, 2017, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Gilmer, with Bishop Peter John Sullivan conducting. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, TX. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Russell passed away Friday, October 13, 2017.
Mr. Russell was born July 14, 1933 in Gilmer, Texas to the late R.E. Russell and Vera Wade. Mr. Russell was a master electrician and worked for Humble Oil. He was also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Gilmer and served in the United States Army. Ralph was an avid outdoorsman, and talented bird dog trainer. He turned that talent into a successful business, training bird dogs for the public for several years. Ralph and Pat, attained their real estate licenses together, and teamed up to sell real estate in Texas and Utah for the last 25 years.
Mr. Russell is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Patsy “Pat” Russell of Gilmer; two daughters; Pamela Kaye Russell of Eagle Mountain, UT., Deborah Anne Adams and husband Joey of Longview, TX.; brother, Cecil Lynn Loftin and wife Patsy of Spanish Fork, UT.; sister, Berta Jean Bednarz of Henderson, NV.; niece, Diana Stansell of Henderson, NV.; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Mr. Russell is preceded in death by his parents.
Serving as pallbearers, Blanton Dawson, Cecil Loftin, Wayne Noon, Pat Noon, Larry Tefteller, George Dodd; honorary pallbearers, Greg Crisler, Jimmy Cochren, John Fowler, and Sammy Dawson.
