Services for Richard Arlan Rose, Sr., 79, of Gladewater, will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at 10 A.M. at Friendship Baptist Church, with Brother John Work and Brother Scotty Fife officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery. Born on July 16, 1933, in Winona, Texas, he died on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. On April 18, 1953, he married Connie Freeman of Kilgore. His love for the Lord was expressed in many ways but especially through his beautiful voice and love for music. Richard served in the capacity of music minister in many churches throughout his life. He is survived by his wife, Connie Rose of Gladewater; son and daughter-in-law, Richard A. Rose, Jr., and Lisa; daughters and sons-in-law, Dianne and Terry Castle of Flint; Denise McKain of White Oak; Becky and Jerry Cavel of White Oak; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lillian and H. G. White of Hideaway Lake. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. on Friday, March 22, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.
