Robert "Bob" William Dooley

Cremation arrangements for Robert “Bob” W. Dooley, age 90 of Longview, are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater. Services will be held at a later date.
Bob was born on December 14, 1926 in Muldrow, Oklahoma to Robert S. and Verlon Elizabeth Walton Dooley. He grew up in Gladewater, where he graduated from Gladewater High School, from there he attended Kilgore College. He served honorably in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and again during the Korean War. He was a 33rd degree mason and a Shriner, and a member of the Methodist faith. Bob retired as an executive from the Mobile Oil Company, he then started Dooley Custom Homes, building homes throughout East Texas until the age of 85. Bob’s work was his life’s passion, word of mouth and happy customers were his only form of advertising. When he wasn’t busy building someone’s dream home, he loved spending time with his family or taking a cruise to a beautiful destination. A special thank you to the staff of LifeCare Hospice and Bobs special LifeCare buddy Sandra, she was his Angel. He loved his nurses Danyale, Kristi, Lorryane, and Deb.
He married his loving wife, Debra Rawls Dooley of Longview, on February 8, 1982 in Gladewater, she survives. He is also survived by his three sons, Bill Dooley and wife Brenda of Baton Rouge, LA., Dave Dooley and wife Brenda of Lafayette, LA., Richard Dooley and wife Jeannette of Spring, TX.; and one daughter, Gillian Dooley Fraser and husband Justin of Longview; two sisters, Betty Otis and Anne Hull both of Tyler; seven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
