Robert Lewis Stracener

GILMER- Robert Lewis Stracener, age 79, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. Robert was born on May 8, 1936, in Bettie, Texas, the son of Lewis Edward and Frances Duncan Stracener. He was a member of The First United Methodist Church, where he served as Past Chairman of its Administrative Board and Board of Trustees. He was also a past President of the East Texas Yamboree and the Gilmer Country Club. Until his retirement, Robert owned and operated Economy Auto Supply in Gilmer. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Herrmann, to whom he was married on December 11, 1954; daughters, Donna Worsham and husband, Joe, Susan Johnston and husband, Steve; sisters, Peggy Morris and Kathy Clemmer, and three grandchildren, Paul Johnston, Melissa Johnston, and Robbie Johnston. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held at the First United Methodist Church on Saturday, February 20, 2016, at 1:00 P.M. A reception will follow in the Fellowship Hall. Honorary pallbearers are members of the New Beginnings Sunday School Class. If desired, memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 105 N.
