Ron G. "Ronnie" White

God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers.

Ron G. “Ronnie” White (11/18/1951 - 3/21/2017)

A true Southern Gentleman and a Tough As Nails Cowboy hung up his spurs Tuesday, March 21st, at 11 PM, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Ronnie was a handsome, fun and fearless man with a genuine soul, an infectious smile (underneath his signature mustache), a heart of gold, and a mischievous little twinkle in his pretty green eyes.

Everybody loved Ronnie. He never met a stranger and he’d give you the shirt off his back. He never got mad at anybody and never had an enemy. He had a multitude of friends. A devoted father, he lived life to the fullest and enjoyed travel (especially to Mexico), the ocean, fishing, golf, playin’ cards, and Rodeo-in’.

Apart from his family, music was his passion. A guitarist and mellifluous crooner, he was in a plethora of bands, one being Lisa Hartman’s; though Lisa had nothing on the magic Ronnie shared (that we enjoyed many a late night) with our own dear Melesia Stevens.

As an actor, Ronnie starred as Billy Clyde in Settin’ on the Woodbine by Jerry Kates (Gladewater Gusher Days - ’80’s & ’90’s), a standout performance on his distinguished resume’.
After working at KLTV Tyler, FOX News, and Family Ford, he up and quit to pursue his favorite job, which was chasin’ hurricanes (Independent Insurance Adjuster).

Following in the footsteps of his grandfather, Ollie Milliorn, Ronnie was a 32nd degree Free Mason and a Shriner. Ollie had Ronnie breaking Shetland ponies for the first rodeo at 5 years old, and he was a proud Director of the Gladewater PRCA Rodeo for over 35 years.

A dog whisperer, great story and joke teller….was there anything he couldn’t do? Well, in a word, no. Yes, he was that person that was so good at everything you just wanted to hate him, but you couldn’t help but love him. Did I mention he could sell a glass of water to a drowning man?

Out of all the many things Ronnie did, his favorite accomplishment was being a father. Ronnie raised two beautiful and whip-smart children, Cash and Paige; and is the proudest Papa of three handsome and talented grandsons: Jaxon and Dane White and Charlie Marsh.

Always an avid reader, I will close with a quote from his favorite Author : “Let us endeavor so to live so that when we come to die even the undertaker will be sorry.” - Mark Twain

Rest in Peace Cowboy. Ride on out to greener pastures. And on a quiet day, if you listen close enough…you can hear him and Jimmy (Bowden) a pickin’ and a grinnin’ from heaven.

LIVING LEGACY: Bobbie and Boogie Modisette; Judy and Cash White, Paige (White) and Charles Marsh, Jaxon and Dane White and Charlie Marsh; Sherry, Bob and Kevin Robinson; Staci (Robinson) and Jason Gibbs; Kristi (Robinson) Zachary, and Isaac Koock.
