Ronald L. Owen

Services for Mr. Ronald L. Owen, 78, of Big Sandy will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, March 23, 2013, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Sonny Parsons officiating. Internment will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy. Mr. Owen passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in Longview. He was born on September 20, 1934, in Woodward, Oklahoma to Walter and Goldie Schwartz Owen. Mr. Owen served in the U. S. Army, graduated from Northwestern State University in Alva Oklahoma. He lived in the Big Sandy area since 1983 and was a self-employed owner of a video store and storage facility unit. . Mr. Owen is survived by his wife, Cleda Cox Owen of Big Sandy; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Berly McCormick of Big Sandy; daughters; Jo Lynn Reid of Kingman, AZ, Darcy Owen of Kingman, AZ, Carol Hill of Shawnee, OK., Eleanor Englis of Bozeman, MT., and Christy Britton and her husband, Jon of Sherman, TX; sisters Carolyn Logsdon of San Gudo, Alberta, Canada and Gwyn Ogg of Cathedral City, CA.; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. The pallbearers are Jeffrey Cowley, Matthew Cowley, Jon Britton, Jacob Britton, Bobby Dudley and Stephen McCormick. The Owen family will receive friends on Friday, March 22, at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M.
