Celebration of life services for Roy Andrew (Andy) Newton, 74, of Longview will be Saturday, September 16, 2017 at 2:00 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Longview. Mr. Newton passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2017 in Longview.

Andy was born April 1, 1943 in San Diego, California to the Woodrow Wilson Newton and Elizabeth Jane Bassett Newton. Mr. Newton was very intelligent and mechanically inclined which led to him taking a job with Drew Woods as a Mechanical Contractor. After that he would go on to own and operate M&N Mechanical Contracting, Universal Services and finally Cherokee Mechanical Contractors before retiring. Andy was very active in life and enjoyed many activities including NASCAR, building race cars, dirt track racing, model airplanes, camping, sailing, gun collecting and competition shooting. He was one of the founders of the Longview Yacht Club. Mr. Newton was very active at the Fellowship Baptist Church working with children in the RA’s Children’s Ministry. He was a hard worker who never met a stranger and had a gift of gab. Andy was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be truly missed by all the loving family and friends he leaves behind.

Andy is survived by his wife Debbie Newton; mother Elizabeth Newton; five children Lynn Ojeda and husband Homero, Elizabeth Ronning and husband John, Rebecca Howell and husband Lonnie, Jennifer Nolan and husband Michael and Drew Newton and wife Bethany; three brothers Bob Newton and wife Linda, Jim Newton and wife Ruby and John Newton and wife Cindy; seven grandchildren Maya Logan, Corbin Howell, Joey Basdeo, Cailin Sneed, Jessica Ronning, Marissa Nolan and Jacob Ojeda as well as many other loving family and friends.
