Roy Lee Wiggins

Funeral services for Roy Lee Wiggins, 76, of Big Sandy, will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 26, 2019, at Butter Cemetery in Forest Hill, Louisiana. Roy passed away on Monday, January 21, 2019, at his home in Big Sandy.

Roy was born April 2, 1942 in Alco, Louisiana to the late Leonard Wiggins and Lucille McDaniel Wiggins. He was a retired Mill rite and had worked for several power plants. Roy enjoyed playing computer games, collecting coins, tinkering and building various things and spending time outdoors with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed tending to his pond and fish. Above all he loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren and took great delight in teasing them. Roy was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He will be truly missed by all those he leaves behind to cherish his memory.

Roy is survived by his wife Jean Wiggins; son Roy DeWhite Wiggins and wife Mary Jane; daughter Amanda Walters and husband Jason; five sisters Betty Muse and husband Presley, Barbara Peters and husband Possum, Jody Irvin and husband Larry, Audrey Townley and husband Ed and Lorna Dean and husband Gill; a brother Lester Wiggins; twelve grandchildren Savannah Burkett and husband Cody, Michael Wiggins, Jessica Wiggin, Harley Wiggins, Jesse Warren, Jimmie Warren, Lucas Warren, Waylon Burkett, Jacob Burkett, Makayla Burkett, Jacob Deters and Jace Deters; three great grandchildren Layla Burkett, Bryce Wiggins, and River Deters; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many other loving family and friends.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Lucille Wiggins, two brothers Douglas Wiggins and L.W. Wiggins and a sister Louise Konsdovf.
