Funeral services for Ruth Anna Vick, 91, of Gilmer, Texas will be held 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Reverend Marion Palmer and Reverend Blake Lander officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mrs. Vick passed away on Friday, January 10, 2014, in Gilmer. Mrs. Vick was born on December 7, 1922, in Los Angeles, California to Thomas J. and Mary C. Zaludek Wirth. Mrs. Vick was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church Gilmer, a member of the Eastern Star, the Hospital Auxiliary and the Ruth Sunday School Class. She also worked for North American Aviation in California as an electrician during World War II. Mrs. Vick is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Vick and son, Lynn Vick. She is survived by daughter, Margaret Vick Doonan and husband, Stephen of Gilmer; grandchildren, Vici Hughes of Gilmer and her children, Andrew and Morgan, Thomas Earl Vick and his wife, Brandy of Gilmer and their children, Alex, Tristen and Brie"Anna, Luke McClelland and his wife Janelle of Gloucester, VA and their children, Caleb, Starr and Riley; and sister Peggy Berry of San Diego, CA.; brother-in-law, Roy L. Vick of Santa Fe, TX. Pallbearers will be her great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 13, 2014, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
