Services for Mrs. Sallie Mae Longest, 90, of Longview will be held 10:00 A.M, Monday, September 12, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Chaplain Carey Ponder officiating and interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mrs. Longest passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 in Longview. She was born on May 24, 1921 in Gilmer, Texas to Willie P. and Alfa Jorden Vivian. Mrs. Longest was a homemaker and a member of Indian Rock Baptist Church. She was survived by her sons, Sid Longest of Canon City, CO., Vic Longest of Longview, Vess Longest of Longview; sisters, Elizabeth Cox of Gilmer, Billie Julian of Wills Point; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; numerous, nieces, nephews and longtime friends. Mrs. Longest was preceded in death by her husband, Sylvester Longest in 1983, and her sisters, Merle Oliver and Mary Jo Cobb. The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 11, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
