Sarah Ann Odom Chrisp

A sweet, soft-spoken, kind soul, Sarah Ann Odom Chrisp has gone to be with her Lord and Savior. She will rejoice as she is reunited with the love of her life, her husband, Morris “Dick” Chrisp, her beloved daughter, Melinda Redding and Sarah’s little boy gone to Heaven at age four, Michael Steven Chrisp and her parents, Guy and Mary Odom.
Sarah was born in Gilmer, Texas on September 13, 1932. She was a lifelong resident. When Sarah was younger she loved to crochet for friends and family, sew and do needlepoint. Baking was fun for her and she was known for her 7-UP cake, and one of her specialties was bing-cherry salad. She was a connoisseur of pecan pie, never able to resist a slice. No one was ever a stranger. All were welcomed into her home.
Sarah is survived by her son, David Chrisp and his wife, son Joseph Chrisp, her sister Joyce Jones, five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to thank Gilmer Nursing Care for all the devotion given to Miss Sarah over the years. Our gratitude goes to Traditions Hospice for your kindness and guidance in our time of need.
There will be a private graveside service for the family.
