Sarah Nell Johns

Graveside service for Mrs. Sarah Nell Johns, 97, of Longview will be held 2:00 P.M. Friday, January 17, 2020 at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer with Chaplain Rick Webb officiating.

Mrs. Johns was born on February 14, 1922, to the late Jess and Winnie Dodd Reed in Itasca, TX. She passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2020 in Longview. Mrs. Johns married J.L. Johns on September 19, 1938 and worked for 30 years at Johns & Stewart Insurance in Gilmer. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church for 73 years. Mrs. Johns loved playing Bridge, and in her younger years she was an avid golf player.

Mrs. Johns is survived by her daughter, Linda Harrison of Gladewater; daughter-in-law, Sandy Johns; grandchildren, Mark Loyd, Michael Loyd, Jeff Johns, Kim Johns, Marty Osborn, Jennifer Tran, and Karen Breazeale; as well as 19 great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, J.L. Johns; parents; sons, John Thomas “Tommy” Johns and Ronald David Johns; brothers, Jack and Joe Reed; and son-in-law, Bill Harrison.
