Funeral services for Tandie Drew Young, 99, of Gilmer, will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gilmer with Larry W. Osborne and Dr. David Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Gilmer. Mrs. Young passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in Longview.
She was born on August 10, 1914, in Gilmer to James Alvin Porter and Connie Rash Porter.
Mrs. Young was a homemaker and a member of Gilmer First Baptist Church. She also was a member of the Eastern Star and was named Beta Sigma Phi Woman of the year in 2009.
Mrs. Young was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, Floyd Fannin and Clay Young; son-in-law, Wendell Duke; stepdaughter, Maxine Young; brothers, Clyde Porter and Ennis Porter.
Mrs. Young is survived by daughters, Connie Duke of Gilmer, La Juan Allison and husband, Elvis of Humble; brother, R. E. Wilson of Bossier City LA; grandchildren, Darry Duke and wife, Jamie, Cara Hammons and husband, Greg, Tanya Hooker and husband, Randy, Tyler Duke, Christy Tucker and husband, Michael, Jayme MacAllister and Monette Hurtt; 13 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Colt Bickerdike, Dakota Bickerdike, Donnor Duke, Brett MacAllister, Corey MacAllister, Caleb Pettit and Isaac Tucker.The family will receive friends on Friday, April 18, 2014, at the funeral home from 4:30 P.M. until 6:00 P.M.
