Timothy Edward Gard

Celebration of the Life of Timothy E Gard, Sr.:
The way he passed is just like the he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority and paved his own way. And if you said he couldn't do it, he would make sure he could.
Timothy E Gard lived 1000 years in the 75 calendar years we had with him because he attacked life, he grabbed it by the lapels, kissed it and swung it back onto the dance floor.
He was born September 8, 1946 in Marysville, California to Thomas 0. and Verdie K. Gard. At the age of three they moved to Mobile, Alabama.
During the height of the Vietnam War Tim served 3 Years, 9 Month and 27 Days in the US Navy aboard the USS Newman K Perry, DD883 as a MM3 Machinist Mate. After his discharge, Tim worked for BLP Mobile Paint and Manufacturing Co, Inc in Mobile Alabama until accepting a position with National Can in Phoenix, Arizona, then transferring to Houston, Texas. During the latter part of 1985 he began a Supervision Position with Stroh's Can Company of Longview, Texas.
In 1985 while in Houston, he met the love of his life, Roberta who supported him in all of his glory during his heyday and lovingly supported him physically during their last days together.
He was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important-the simplicity of living a life with those you love. He lived life with no regrets. He loved fishing, boating, camping and raising Longhorn cattle.
He was a member of the Church of Power in Gilmer, Texas. Tim loved and knew the Lord. Because of his love of music, he operated the sound equipment.
Tim is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Roberta Gard, five children: Tammy Daley and husband Bill of Mobile, Alabama; Timothy Gard II and wife, Christy of Ore City, Texas; Tonja Stringer and husband Johnny of Mobile, Alabama; Angela Partain of Gilmer, Texas and Christopher Partain and wife Tiffany also of Gilmer, Texas.
Grandchildren: Justin Jones, Amber Stasiunas, Amanda Daley, Jennifer Daley, Cassidy Nugent, Justin Nugent, Aubrey Partain, Abigayle Partain, Kristina Tanner and Samantha Woodham.
And, 5 great grandchildren.
In addition to his family, he is survived by his five fur babies, Fatman, Baby Face, B.G, Cocoa and Remington.
Tim was larger than life, caring, kind and generous and will be greatly missed.
