Mr. Wayne Davis, 71, of Big Sandy, Texas passed away Sunday, February 23, 2020 at his home in Big Sandy. Born to Charles Wayne Davis, Sr. and Lois Rachael Busby Davis on November 28, 1948 in Gladewater, Mr. Davis was a lifetime resident of Upshur County. A hard worker and entrepreneur, he owned and operated TWS Drilling and Construction. He was an Elder for 40 years at the First Christian Church in Big Sandy and more currently was a member of the Sit Em’ Down Cowboy Church of Big Sandy.

Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Betty Vinson Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Jackie Davis; son, Jeff Davis; sisters, Charlene Mizener, Kay Ellis, and husband, Corky; two grandchildren, Charlie Davis, Carlee Leslie, and her husband, Travis; and two great grandchildren, Tanner and Kolton Leslie.

Funeral service for Mr. Davis will be held at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the Sit Em’ Down Cowboy Church, 231 Private Road 3487, Big Sandy, TX 75755, with Bro. Chad Lee officiating, interment to follow at Chilton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. prior to the service at the Church on Thursday.

Donation may be made in memory of Mr. Wayne Davis to the Hospice of East Texas, 911 E Loop 281, Longview, TX 75605.
