Funeral services for Y.A. "Tubby" Hill, 79, of Big Sandy, Texas will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., at Croley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Trimble and Reverend Jim Wolstenholm officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Upshur County. Arrangements are under the directions of Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mr. Hill passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 in Tyler, Texas. He was born on May 19, 1937 in Upshur County to Youthel and Rosalee Glenn Hill. He retired from Carrier Air after 26 years and later retired after 30 years as a rural mail carrier for the US Postal Service and was awarded the Million Mile Service Award from the US Postal Service. Mr. Hill was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Gage and Rick Wilson of Big Sandy; brothers, Granville "Rip" Hill of Gilmer, Robert Hill and wife, Nadine of Gilmer, Joe Hill and wife, Jennie of Big Sandy; sister, Mary Rose Campbell and husband, Glenn of Gilmer; numerous nieces and nephews, and granddaughter, Brandi Stegall. Mr. Hill is preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Hill, who passed away on November 13, 2013. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 12, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
