Albertha “Bert” Stegman passed away on April 19, 2026, in Gladewater, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on December 1, 1950, in Hays, Kansas, to Louis F. and Mary Kreutzer. On October 5, 1968, she married the love of her life, Stanley “Joe” Stegman, in Ellis, Kansas. Together, they built a life centered on family, faith, and simple joys, sharing 58 wonderful years of marriage.
Bert was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was blessed with three children, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, all of whom brought joy to her life. She was a member of Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Union Grove, Texas.
She found happiness in life’s everyday pleasures—playing golf, crocheting hats for cancer patients through Texas Oncology, watching Texas Rangers baseball, browsing estate sales, and taking rides with her husband.
Albertha “Bert” Stegman, 75, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2026, at her home in Gladewater, Texas, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband, Stanley “Joe” Stegman; her son, Rocky Stegman and his wife Andrea; her daughters, Stacey Birdsong and her husband Brad, and Erica McPherson and her husband Brandt; along with her five grandchildren, Taylor Stegman, Jordan Stegman, Bailee Hudson, Brayson Birdsong, and Jaydan McPherson, and four great-grandchildren.
Bert will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the deep love she had for her family.
A graveside service will be held at Rock Springs Cemetery, 1366 Old Hwy 135N, Gladewater, Texas, on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 10:30AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Texas Oncology in Longview, Texas, The Hospice of East Texas or Saint Theresa Catholic Church in Union Grove, Texas.
She will be deeply missed and forever cherished by all who knew and loved her.
