Alma Snider

Funeral services for Alma Alzana Snider, 90, of Big Sandy will be 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 22, 2011, at New Hope Baptist Church with Bro. David Thornton officiating. Interment will be in the Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy. Arrangements are by Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Mrs. Snider passed away Friday, August 19, 2011, in a Tyler hospice. Mrs. Snider was born June 11, 1921, in Upshur County, Texas to Luther and Alzana Fitzgerald Welch. She was a homemaker, a lifetime resident of Upshur County and a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She married Henry Ellis Snider on January 1, 1944, and he preceded her in death in 1987. Mrs. Snider is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Jane and John Stewart of Big Sandy and Elyce and Charles Still of Tyler; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m, Sunday, August 21, 2011, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer.
