Ammon Russell Maloney

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Russell Maloney on September 16th, 2025.

Russell was born in Gilmer, TX, in 1943 to AR and Ina Maloney. Russell grew up in Longview and attended Spring Hill High School and Stephen F. Austin University. Russell met the love of his life, Linda, in Longview and they were married on March 28, 1964. Together they raised two sons, Clark and Shane. Clark lives with his wife, Gabrielle, in Houston, and Shane lives with his wife, Deanna, in McKinney. He was a proud grandfather of 6 grandchildren. Adam, Maven, Hannah, Merek Maloney, Julian, and Sebastian Hobday.

Russell enjoyed spending time outside with family and friends, fishing, hunting, snow skiing, water skiing, boating, and riding 4-wheelers in Arkansas. He will always be remembered for his quick wit and big smile.

He is survived by his sister, Jaquita Nell Lowry of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and brother, Kenneth Wayne Maloney, preceded him. 

He spent the last week of his life on vacation in Yellowstone and Big Sky, Montana, surrounded by his wife of 62 years, kids, and grandchildren. 

We will all miss him greatly.

Russell was not one for big parties or celebrations about him, so he requested no funeral service. The family will have a celebration of life in the near future.
