Andres G. "Andy" Lopez, Jr.

Andres “Andy” G. Lopez Jr. of Bettie, formerly of Alice, TX passed
into Eternal Glory, Jan. 07, 2024, after a short battle of Liver cancer.
Andres “Andy” was born on May 12, 1940, in Uvalde, TX to Andres
and Luz “Lucia” Lopez their first- born. Andres had 2 sisters and a
brother. Gregorio (Belia) Lopez, Noemi (George) Leal, Margarita “Moy”
(Felix) Hinojosa all of Alice, TX. Andres “Andy” met the love of his life,
Noemi Perez, in the cotton fields of South Texas. He later marries her.
Together they have 5 children, Erasmo (Cissy) Lopez, Isidro Lopez,
Moises Lopez, Genaro “Jerry” Lopez and Raquel (Rodney) Ross. They
raised their children to walk close to God through Jesus Christ, to love
church, family and help others. Andres “Andy” provided for his family
by working hard as a laborer, then a mechanic, a grounds keeper and
finally as a custodian. Retiring from Texas A&M- Corpus Christi in 2002.
After retirement the empty nesters moved to Longview following their
adult children. Noemi passed away 4 years later.
6 years after Noemi’s passing Andres meet Hilda Nelms, at
church, a widow herself and a devout Christian. The couple fell in love
and decide to do life together. The couple married on Oct. 16, 2021, at
Primera Iglesia Bautista of Gilmer where they continued to worship and
serve the Lord. The couple were inseparable while enjoying life
together.
Andres “Andy” is preceded in death by his first wife Noemi,
parents Andres and Lucia, sister Noemi, two sons Isidro and Moises, a
niece Melva Molina. He is survived by 3 children Erasmo, Genaro and
Raquel, 5 stepchildren Alberto (Orga) Ayala, Aurora “Lola” Nelms
(Roger Silver), Laura Watson (Randy McClain), Gina (Raymond)Lopez
and Guadalupe “Pete” Suarez. 19 grandchildren, 37 great
grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren.
