Arthur C. "Bud" Potts, Jr.

Arthur C. "Bud" Potts, Jr., 90, of Gilmer, Texas, entered his heavenly home Sunday, June 25, 2023, surrounded by his family.

Bud was born January 31, 1933, in Blooming Grove, Texas. He graduated school in Carlisle, Texas, and attended Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, Texas.  Bud was the owner and operator of D & B Distributing in Nacogdoches, Texas, until his retirement and moved to East Texas. He was an active member of Glenwood Baptist Church, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Arthur Clemmons Potts, Sr. and Katie Jewell Potts; three sisters, Barbara Potts, Bobbie Mason, Kay O'Bannion and one grandson, Aaron Charter.

Survivors include his wife of over thirty-one years, Mary Childress Potts; one sister, Margaret Peacock and husband, Raymond, of Tyler, Texas; daughters, Sherry Yard and husband, Don of Liberty, Texas, Denise Burks and husband, Keith of Ore City, Texas, Mary Sue Cole of Ore City, Texas; four grandchildren, Amber Charter Stafford and husband, Trevor, Lane Burks, Amie Buckland and husband, Jarrod, Penni Pannell and husband, Justin and thirteen great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00PM to 7:00PM Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer. Graveside services will be held 3:00PM Thursday, June 29, 2023, at Duncan Cemetery of Henderson, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 7001 FM 726 S, Gilmer, Texas 75645 or to the Duncan Cemetery Association.
