Barbara White
Bush
December 5, 1947 – May 30, 2026
Rosewood Baptist Church
Starts at 11:00 am (Central time)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Barbara Sue White Bush. Barbara was born on December 5, 1947, in Gilmer, to James Lewis White and Amy Geneva Bullard. To know Barbara was truly to love her. She was a woman with the kindest soul, always willing to help anyone in need and never hesitating to put others before herself. Her love was unconditional, her heart was genuine, and her presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone around her.
Barbara was a proud and devoted mother, nanny, daughter, sister, and friend. She graduated from Gilmer High School, class of 1966 and worked for several years at the Gilmer Pottery Company and found great pleasure greeting customers as a store clerk at the Chevron Gas Station in Gilmer. She enjoyed her time there and could always point out a familiar face years later. Barbara loved her family deeply and cherished every moment spent with them. Whether she was cooking a home cooked meal for her loved ones, relaxing in her recliner with a good book, or watching Hallmark television, Barbara found joy in life’s simple moments. Above all, she loved being surrounded by the people she loved most.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her son, Shane Jackson and his wife, Jennifer, her daughter, Shannon Jackson Tharp and husband Jeremiah, her beloved grandchildren, Darian Lowe and husband Denim, Rainy Jones, and husband Matt, Bryce Dollison, Kasin Beam, Hadley Tharp, and Hudson Tharp, great-grandchildren, Walker and Wilder Lowe and Benjamin and Rowan Jones, brother, Kevin White and wife Michelle, and sister Beverly Bowers and husband, Joe.
Babrbara was preceded in death by her parents, James and Amy Geneva White.
A memorial service will be held to honor Barbara's life at Rosewood Baptist Church, Saturday, June 27 and 11:00 AM with Brother Charles Johnson officiating, with a private family burial to follow at Hopewell Cemetery with her parents.
Her beautiful spirit, loving heart, and unforgettable smile will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Barbara will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered every single day.
