Barbara Downs

Services for Barbara Ann �Nana� Downs, 82, of Diana, will be held 10 Am Monday June 23, 2014, at Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana with Reverend Marvin Denison officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Creek Cemetery. Mrs. Downs passed away surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Barbara was born January 24, 1932, in Birmingham, Alabama, to Glennard C. and Lillian V. Hoglen. Nana was a homemaker and was known as a wonderful cook and for her banana pudding at church. She is survived by her husband, Melvin R. Downs, Sr.,; children: Mel R. Downs, Jr., and Debbie Murrell, and husband, Jimmy; a sister: Gayle Sisk; grandchildren: Amy Murrell and Angie Newman, and husband, Paul; and great grandchildren: Holly and Kayla Newman.
