Benny Joe Gilbert

Benny Joe Gilbert, 85, of Texarkana, passed away on Friday, April 10, 2020. Mr. Gilbert was born July 25, 1934, in Upshur County, Texas, to Joseph Clinton and Hattie Rose Pritchett Gilbert.
He worked for many years as a mailer in the newspaper industry, and also served his country in the US Air Force. Benny loved his family and his extended family through the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Chapman of Texarkana; a brother, Weldon Gilbert of Gilmer; a sister, Doyce Johnson of Los Angeles; eight grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
Due to current restrictions, there will be a private graveside conducted for Mr. Gilbert at Enoch cemetery.
