Mrs. Betty Lea Chronister, daughter of the late Henry Sanford Brookshier and Gladys “MeMe” Brookshier was born November 7, 1932 in Big Woods, Texas. At the early age of 13 years old, she professed her faith to Jesus Christ and joined White Oak Baptist Church. Betty was the longest standing member of her church at the time of her passing with an 78-year continuous membership. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and led countless others to Jesus, including her grandchildren.
Mrs. Betty was an active member of her church and was always there to volunteer if anyone was in need. As a result of her generous spirit and beautiful personality, she was loved by many. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so much, and her influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She quietly departed this life and gained her wings on Friday, September 6, 2024 at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, TX.
Mrs. Betty was preceded in death by her husband Don Dalton Tyner (1966), husband Bobby Joe Lloyd (1987), and husband Wendell Allen Chronister (2013), son, Ronnie Tyner, brother, Sammy Don Brookshire, and sister, Jeannine Barnhill.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her son, Jace and his wife Melanie Tyner of Gladewater, Tx, her grandchildren, Jason and Jamie Robertson of Gladewater, Tx, Josh and Shannon Robertson of Gilmer, Tx, Ty and Lindsey Tyner of Austin, Tx, Cory and Brooke Redwine of Granbury, Tx, Jace and Angel Tyner of Queens City, Tx, Meghan Tyner of Memphis, TN, 13 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great Great Grandchildren, and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Chronister will be held on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 11:00 am at the White Oak Baptist Church, where family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. Interment to follow in the Old White Oak Cemetery.
