Betty Lucille Hoell

Betty Lucille Hoell, 85, of Diana, passed away peacefully on the evening of September 9, 2025, in Gilmer, TX.  Betty was born on January 8, 1940 in Tulsa, OK to the late Harold Raymond Bunt of Little Rock, AR and Sarah Gertrude (Cargil) Bunt of Bentonia, MS.  When she was 16, she married the love of her life, Eugene Neil Hoell and they enjoyed 38 years of marriage, until his passing in 1994.  Betty was a resident of Diana for 45 years, where she had many life-long friends.

Betty was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for over 72 years, attending church in Gilmer for the last 45 years.  She had a love of God and believed in the power of prayer. Betty loved her family deeply as well as loving on her dogs, doing genealogy, travel, gardening and country living, and truly was a people person.  She could be described as a "people person" who always had a smile on her face and could see the good in anyone she met.

She is survived by her daughters, Hazel Marie Pittman and Betty Carol Cannon; grandsons, Jason Allan Neuman, Thomas Eugene Davis and Lucus William Davis; granddaughters, Chasity Michelle Neuman, DeAnna Marie Jackson and Chelsea Yvonne Davis; her many great and great-great grandchildren as well as her sisters, Frankie Ann Gammage and Patricia Rose Sanders.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Raymond Bunt and Sarah Gertrude Bunt; her beloved husband, Eugene Neil Hoell; son, Johnny Neil Hoell; brother, Harold Ray Bunt; and sisters, Bessie Marie Campbell and Wanda Holcomb.

Funeral services for Betty will be held on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Croley Funeral Home in Gilmer, with Brother Ray Settles officiating, where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the services.  Following the services, Betty will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Enoch Cemetery in Upshur County TX.
