Services for Betty Jean Wojcik, 81, of Gladewater will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater. The family will receive friends at Croley Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
Betty was born in Winona, Texas on October 5, 1935 to Albert L. Kinser and Dorothy Jackson-Kinser. Ms. Wojcik passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Gladewater.
She graduated from high school in Houston, Texas and then attended Harris County Community College in Houston for two years. Betty best described as sweet, kind and strong, had a 22 year career as a phone operator for Lowes Home Improvement store, before retiring. She was a devoted Girl Scout leader for 17 years helping many girls become wonderful young ladies with outstanding character. Betty was also an Eastern Star for 6 years, a member of the Scuba diving Club of Texas, the Old Spanish Trail Ride Association and the Fast Draw Club of Texas. Betty was loved by many. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by daughters; Belinda “Kayla” Lash, Tammie and husband Delbert Cooper and Cynthia L. Datray, Grandchildren; James, Greg and Brian Woodard, John Akridge, Matthew Cooper, Jacob Datray and Rosie Angus, as well as 14 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, daughter Tandy Lee Thacker and Brother Wayne Kinser.
