Obituary

Betty Patricia “Patsy” McDowell, 77, of Diana, Texas, passed away on July 22, 2026.

Patsy was born on January 22, 1949, in Center, Texas, to Oscar Reeves and Ollie Reeves. She was raised alongside her siblings, Margie, Isom, and Lilly Pearl.

She was the beloved wife of William Robert McDowell, with whom she shared many years of marriage and built a loving family.

Patsy is survived by her husband, William Robert McDowell; her sons, Scotty McDowell and wife Lisa, and Jason McDowell and wife Karie; her grandsons, Jacob McDowell, Colt McDowell, and Brody McDowell; along with many extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her cherished grandchildren, Olivia Johanna “Jo” McDowell and William Henry “Hank” McDowell, whose memories remained close to her heart.

Throughout her life, Patsy served her community in a variety of roles. She worked as a nurse, a school bus driver, and a landscaper, earning the respect of those who knew her through her dedication and strong work ethic.

Patsy was a faithful member of Walnut Creek Baptist Church in Diana, Texas, where her faith and church family were an important part of her life.

She will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her enduring faith, and the example she set through a lifetime of hard work and perseverance. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m., on July 25, 2026, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00 p.m., at: Walnut Creek Baptist Church 1969 N. Sego Lily Road Diana, TX 75640.

The family sincerely appreciates the prayers, love, and support extended to them during this difficult time. Though Patsy will be greatly missed, her love and legacy will remain with her family always.
