Byron "Bubba" Eugene Hillhouse

Byron "Bubba" Hillhouse was born in February 1959 in Cleveland, Texas, and passed away on July 30, 2025, in Gladewater, Texas. He started working at a young age, hauling hay and building pallets, before moving on to oilfield and carpentry jobs. He eventually finished his career at a hazardous waste plant.

Bubba loved to fish and hunt and had a passion for classic country music. He was always outside, working on various projects. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his grandchildren at their sports games and school functions. He had a playful spirit, often teasing and joking with everyone he met, claiming, "I am trying to make them tough."

While he had a tough exterior, he had a heart of gold and would do anything for others. He was devoted to his daughters and wife, always protecting them and ensuring that no one would bother them.

Survived by beloved wife, Cindy Hillhouse and daughters, Krystal Griffin and husband Tracy, and Jessica Adkinson and husband Riley. Grandchildren, Jacob Griffin, Hailey Griffin, Ryder Adkinson, and Parker Adkinson; as well as many nieces and nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his father, Robert Eugene Hillhouse, his mother, Thelma Joyce Penninton, and his sister Janice Williford.

Funeral services for Bubba will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 at 10:00 am at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.  A visitation will be held Sunday, August 3, 2025 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the funeral home.  Interment will follow the services on Monday in Gladewater Memorial Park Cemetery.
