Carly Wimberley

"If you are reading this,.....I’m probably dead, …. if I may speak openly, that sucks.”

Carly Fay Wimberley (Faulkner), born on September 10, 1993, peacefully passed away on November 16. 2023. She recently celebrated her 30th birthday with her characteristic enthusiasm for a good ‘last hurrah.’ Over the past 4 1/2 years, she fought every day, and now she has found total joy.

Carly had a passion for crocheting, gardening, journaling, and any kind of crafts. Above all, she cherished her friends, family, and her faithful dog, Duke. Her two children, David (10) and Colton (4), brought unparalleled brightness to her life, and being their mother was her greatest honor.

Carly grew up in Dallas, Texas, attending Hillcrest Academy and Parish Episcopal School. She graduated in 2011 and then attended Mary Harden Baylor in Belton, Texas.

Throughout Carly's life, she has made many lifelong friendships. Upon receiving her diagnosis of Stage 4 NSCLC Alk+ cancer, she became actively involved in online support groups for others who shared her disease. Her ability to articulate the nuances of daily battles and life's ups and downs resonated with many.  As a result, she made friends and connections worldwide, inspiring countless individuals facing their own struggles.

Carly is survived by the love of her life, Charles Wimberley, their two children David and Colton, her parents Lori and Craig Savage, her siblings Emily Fite (Michael), Raye Savage, and Declan Savage, her niece Nora Fite, and her grandparents, Sherryn Peck (Darrell Lee), Bill and Gayle Peck, and Barbara Savage. She is also remembered fondly by many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
