Carolyn Mae Poor

Funeral services for Carolyn Mae Poor, age 91, of Big Sandy, will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Croley Funeral Home of Hawkins, Chaplain Elwood Stetson will officiate, the family will receive friends one hour before the service, interment will follow at Chilton Cemetery in Big Sandy, with Grandsons and Sons-in-law serving as pallbearers.
Carolyn passed away on Friday, December 8, 2017 in Tyler.
Carolyn was born in Weaver, Texas on Friday, September 10, 1926 to the late Hick V. Wall and Marguerite Armstrong Wall. She was a retired secretary for Big Sandy High School, and a member of the First Baptist Church of Big Sandy. She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, camping, ceramics, painting, and was a big supporter of the Big Sandy Wildcats. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, homemaker, and an excellent pie baker.
She married, the late, Billy Joe Poor on July 21, 1946 in Weaver. She is also preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Faye Payne.
She leaves behind her three daughters, Cathy France and husband Wylie of Tyler, Carla Baker and husband Dale of Big Sandy, Jolene Lee and husband Greg of Tyler; a brother, Curtis Wall of Weaver; five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
The family asks for donations to be made to the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, 4111 University Blvd. Tyler, TX 75701, in lieu of flowers.
